The Sustainable Travel Report 2022 was produced by Booking.com and is based on a survey conducted amongst 30 000 travellers from 32 destinations. The aim of this report is to emphasise the importance of sustainable travel as a future trend.

Booking.com has published its 7th Sustainable Travel Report, which is based on the results of a survey conducted amongst 30 000 travellers, from 32 destinations. The report focuses on sustainable travel choices, highlighting the respondents’ perceptions of sustainable travel options. These include choosing destinations that are closer to home, choosing alternative methods of travel, or choosing a destination that makes a positive community impact within the host community. The perception is that there is a compromise between luxury and sustainability and that many travellers do not know how to identify a sustainable destination. The report highlights the need for a recognised, easy-to-use sustainability rating for destinations to assist travellers with making an informed choice.
